The Panther Activities Council (PAC) is always looking for students to get involved in planning and executing events for Perimeter College students. Students should take a look at the committees and position responsibilities to determine if there is a committee they would like to volunteer for or if there is a vacancy to apply for a director position. Vacant positions are listed on our PIN page.

Position Responsibilities

  • President: responsible for overall leadership, planning and conducting retreats and training, monitoring the budget, soliciting and reviewing requests for co-sponsorships, submitting applications for awards, and planning and implementing appreciation events for the executive board.
  • Vice President: assists with planning college and university-wide programs (i.e., concerts, homecoming, Panther Welcomes, Spring Fling), responsible for recruitment and retention endeavors, coordinates volunteers, and serve as representative for orientations and meet & greets.
  • Assessment & Marketing Director: coordinates all surveys, promotion, advertising and media related to the Panther Activities Council.
  • Arts & Culture Director: presents inspiring cultural programs, art and media related events, and speakers which will offer information, intellectual stimulation and various points of view to students, faculty and staff of the college. The director will organization art-focused programs and coordinate efforts with the Humanities department to let students know of events happening on campus.
  • Entertainment Director: promotes social and entertainment events for Georgia State University students at Perimeter College and strengthens the bond between the campus and the community.
  • Traditions Director: responsible for promoting school spirit while maintaining traditional events suited to the needs and interest of the entire student body. This chair also helps coordinate the Royal Court selection process which highlights outstanding students to represent the student body during the Homecoming week of activities. Responsible for Club Fairs, campus-specific Homecoming, Panther Welcome and Spring Fling events.
  • Wellness & Service Director: strengthens the bond between their campus and the community at large by organizing volunteer activities in and around the community. This position also promotes the physical, mental and general well-being of students while executing programs for students to enhance a healthy lifestyle.

Stipend Information
Stipends are awarded on a monthly basis. Stipend awards are contingent upon the officers and directors fulfilling their requirements and participating fully as a PAC member.

While committee members do not receive stipends, they do receive the following benefits:

  • Use of an office, computer and telephone for office purposes only.
  • Opportunity to participate in leadership training activities.
  • Opportunity to travel to local, state, regional and national conferences and workshops as an official representative of Georgia State University.
  • Opportunity to build knowledge, skills and abilities in demand in the workforce.

Committee Member Responsibilities

Qualifications
Committee members must:

  • Be currently enrolled students in Perimeter College at Georgia State University.
  • Be responsible, reliable, dedicated and flexible.
  • Display a willingness to help others and enjoy working with people.
  • Demonstrate a desire and commitment to plan a diverse schedule of quality programs.
  • Possess good communication and listening skills in order to contribute to committee meetings and work with fellow PAC members.
  • Serve as a role model by displaying responsibility and maturity as a student leader.

General Duties

  • Serve as a member of the Panther Activities Council (PAC).
  • Serve on college-wide and campus committees, as requested.
  • Become knowledgeable about the PAC Constitution and Bylaws, campus resources and their locations, and college-wide policies.
  • Fulfill all committee duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Specific Duties

  • Meet all qualifications for a committee member as specified in the Panther Activities Council handbook.
  • Attend all regularly scheduled Panther Activities Council meetings.
  • Attend all mandatory training events per semester (campus-based and college-wide) as scheduled by the Student Life office.
  • Uphold the Constitution and all ordinances of the Panther Activities Council.
